On 19 December 2014, CJ E&M released 2014 top 10 CPI (Content Power Index) ranking.
Contents Power Index is an objective surveyconducted by CJ E&M & research company Nielsen to measure the programs’ power based on viewers’ behaviors. The accumulative CPI points were calculated from news subscription rankings, direct search rankings and the viewers’ involvement (the number of times the program was mentioned on social media).
They analyzed 205 programs (dramas, entertainment, music, infotainment programs) aired in three terrestrial channels and CJ E&M channels [tvN, Mnet, OCN, Onstyle, O’live, XTM, STRYON]) for 48 weeks (from January to November 2014).
It’s not a big surprise You who came from the stars is crowned as the most influential TV show of the year. Misaeng followed closely behind in the second place. Misaeng premiered in the last quarter of 2014 and topped weekly CPI ranking for 7 weeks. Fair to conclude that You Who came from the stars dominated the first half of 2014 and Misaeng in the second half of the year.
