Broadcasting stations preempted regular TV programs on 16 & 17 April 2014, SBS pushed back Glorious Day’s premiere date

KBS, SBS & MBC cancelled their regular TV programs yesterday for continuous news coverage of Sewol ferry disaster which sank yesterday morning. The ship carried more than 450 people on board, most of them are high school students who’re on field trip to Jejudo. Rescue workers are racing against the clock to rescue almost 300 people, most likely trapped inside the sunken ship. We’re praying for their safety and praying they’ll be rescued soon. Our deepest sympathy for the heroes, the victims and their families. May they find comfort & peace.

As the whole nation and the families wait anxiously for news of their loved ones, broadcasting stations are carefully observing the situation. It’s expected they’ll cancel today’s regular programs to respect the passengers, crew and the families of the sunken ship.
